The Chalet School is on the move again. After a happy two terms in Guernsey, the threat from enemy attack is so great that the school must transfer to the mainland. Luckily, Plas Howell in Armishire proves an ideal location, even though Gwensi Howell bitterly resents this upset into her previously spoiled life. Joey is not far away, and able to give help when needed. This is very much a Chalet School story, but we can also not forget the War, and those members of the school who had to be left behind in Nazi occupied Europe.
